COMPETITION RULES

  • Timing and transit and finish will be recorded electronically. All swimmers wear a tag at both wrists.
  • All transition and finishes will be recorded on camera
  • OTL rule will be in effect for 5K and 10K Distance. (15Min after 1st swimmer of age group/gender finished). The rule is 15 minutes per 5km, so for 10K is 30 minutes).
  • for the 10K a feeding platform will be provided and 1 coach per swimmer will be able to provide drink and food.

 

Feeding Station Guidelines

  • Only one coach or team representative is allowed per athlete on the feeding platform.
  • Feeding poles must not exceed 5 meters in length and may only have a small national flag (max 30cm x 20cm) attached—no other items, ropes, or weights are permitted.
  • Feeding must be delivered directly by hand or pole—no throwing of items into the water.
  • No whistles are allowed for coaching or instructions.

PROTESTS

Any protest relating to an Open Water Swimming competition must be submitted in writing by the Team Leader or authorised representative to the Chief Referee within 30 minutes of the conclusion of the race, together with a protest fee of Afl. 50, in accordance with the applicable World Aquatics Competition Regulations and Open Water Swimming Rules; the fee shall be refunded if the protest is upheld and forfeited if the protest is rejected. 

 

REGISTRATION

  • On-line Registration only through website (click on link)
  • Deadline for registration will be Friday June 12, 2026 at midnight
  • No registrations or changes will be accepted at the day of the race. No exceptions!
  • Swimmers could mark their assigned race (Available from Saturday June 13, 2026 at https://timing.events) if possible.
  • Registration fee: AWG 35 per swimmer (Bank transfer only).

PROGRAM

8:00: Start 1KM Boys and Girls Check-in will begin at 7:00 

9:00: Start 3 km Boys and Girls, Check-in will begin at 8:00 

9:05: Start 5 km Boys and Girls, Check-in will begin at 8:00

9:05: Start 10 km Boys and Girls, Check-in will begin at 8:00

*Check-in closing time is 15 minutes before the start of the race.

 

Swimmers must bring their own drink bottles. Water and Iced tea are available in containers!

 

AWARDS

Swimmers finishing in the top three places of each age group in their designated gender (mixed) will receive a medal.  AWARDS ceremony will be around 11:00AM

2026 ARUBA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS:

The title of Aruba National Champion is eligible only to Aruban citizens and/or residents and is the overall winner (female and male) in each of the distances (1, 3, 5 and 10 KM) and will receive a trophy.

 

BL 9.3.7.2 NUMBERING OF SWIMMERS

The numbering of Competitors is to appear on the arms, upper backs and hands of competitors. On the arms the numbers shall be arranged vertically. On the upper backs and hands the numbering is horizontally. Where the numbering of the arms and backs is made with an ink template: 100 mm high x 60 mm wide. The numbering of the hands of competitors is allowed by marking pens. For Competitors with darker skin and full body wet suits a white marker pen will be required.

By entering this Open Water event, I certify that the information provided is accurate. I agree to swim at my own risk and understand the inherent dangers associated with open water swimming. I accept full responsibility for any injuries or incidents that may occur during or as a result of participating in open water swimming activities organized by the Aruba Aquatics Federation. I therefore waive any liability and agree not to pursue any claim against the Aruba Aquatics Federation.
